The Master activities will start in October 2021 and the procedure for students’ enrolment will be open in June 2021 with a specific call.
The Master Degree in Migration Studies will be open to 25 students coming from Tunisian BA but also to students coming from Middle East and Nord Africa, Sub-Saharan Region and Europe.
The Master Degree in Migration Studies will be an interdisciplinary two years programme offered in English that will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges represented by international migration.
The Master Degree in Migration Studies will be accredited as Master of Research in Tunisian Academic System.
Thanks to education, knowledge and capabilities acquired during the study programme, students will obtain a range of high-level skills and competences: multi-dimensional analyses of migration and integration in a wide range of contexts, including the competence to understand the causes, patterns and effects of international migration, understand and use both quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as cultural analysis, conflict analysis, management and administration of migrant policies and governance.
The integration of immigrants in receiving countries will be examined including the structural analysis of labour market positions of migrants, the different patterns of development, or problems related to discrimination.
Cultural aspects of integration and social positioning will be analyzed, together with the policies related to migration. How policies have been developed in countries across the world and how migration is framed within broader political debates and in the media will be considered.
Students enrolled in the Master Degree in Migration Studies will acquire skills, competences and training that represent top priority for the opportunities of jobs and professions at national, regional and international levels.
There is a great need at the national level now than any other time for professionals trained in the field of migration, a pressing issue that has so much troubled the local, regional and international stakeholders.
Graduates trained in the field of migration are in demand and can have job opportunities in International Agencies, Public Administration, International and Local Observatories for Migration, NGOs, etc. They can work also as cultural mediators and translators for migrants in local councils, courts, consulates and embassies.
